Pastor's Welcome

Dear Parishioners and Friends:

Jesus gave the command to the disciples to go out into the world to preach, heal and teach. Their efforts and those of countless women and men since that time have brought into being the Christian Church and in particular our Catholic community of the Church of the Resurrection. The means for spreading the Good News has changed since those early days when the message was given orally then written and compiled into book form. Long gone are the quill pens and monastic scriptoriums. However the message of Jesus is timeless and perhaps more important for the world to hear than in any other time in our human history. Today we have the instant electronic media with worldwide scope and reach. With the advent of this web page, we join the growing numbers of churches within our diocese and communion who are witnessing to the saving power of Christ.

We hope to provide you with the tools necessary for you and your family to better use the Internet; to communicate to us and to your fellow parishioners; and to grow in your knowledge of God. We also hope, by employing this tool, to make you more aware of the many different activities and opportunities to serve God that are provided at Resurrection. We look forward to your suggestions and help as our parish web page develops. Please feel free to send us your suggestions for improvement and if you have talents, time and skills that might benefit us in our on-going development please feel free to write, phone or e-mail us with your ideas. You are even invited to use the traditional method of talking in person to myself, or any of our staff about your ideas.

With God's help let us all commit ourselves to the wise use of our time, talent and treasure to grow in Jesus Christ and to strengthen, promote and extend a community of justice, love and peace. And may the Spirit of the Prince of Peace reign supreme in your hearts, your home and in our world.
