Social Justice Committee

About SJC

The Social Justice Committee (SJC) is a vibrant group of dedicated parishioners driven by one common goal...to help the less fortunate. It all began in 1991...primarily to assist the St. Ambrose Outreach Center with food and clothing and to provide a vehicle by which homes in the St. Ambrose neighborhood could be rehabilitated. The Committee now tackles at least fourteen (14) standing projects with a membership approaching thirty-five (35). A member spearheads and supervises a particular project of his or her choice (subject to Committee approval) with the assistance of other members as well as volunteers from the entire Parish.

Our Committee is pro-active. We do more than just fund projects. We get involved ... seeing the smiles on the faces of school children as they receive their new school supplies ... watching the tears of joy as families receive a turkey for Thanksgiving or a ham at Easter ... feeling the spirit as we gather and distribute gifts and food for those in need and hearing them sing out "Thank you and Merry Christmas."
