Dear Parishioners and Friends:
Jesus gave the command to the disciples to go out into the world to
preach, heal and teach. Their efforts and those of countless women and
men since that time have brought into being the Christian Church and in
particular our Catholic community of the Church of the Resurrection.
The means for spreading the Good News has changed since those early
days when the message was given orally then written and compiled into
book form. Long gone are the quill pens and monastic scriptoriums.
However the message of Jesus is timeless and perhaps more important for
the world to hear than in any other time in our human history. Today we
have the instant electronic media with worldwide scope and reach. With
the advent of this web page, we join the growing numbers of churches
within our diocese and communion who are witnessing to the saving power
of Christ.
We hope to provide you with the tools necessary for you and your
family to better use the Internet; to communicate to us and to your
fellow parishioners; and to grow in your knowledge of God. We also
hope, by employing this tool, to make you more aware of the many
different activities and opportunities to serve God that are provided
at Resurrection. We look forward to your suggestions and help as our
parish web page develops. Please feel free to send us your suggestions
for improvement and if you have talents, time and skills that might
benefit us in our on-going development please feel free to write, phone
or e-mail us with your ideas. You are even invited to use the
traditional method of talking in person to myself, or any of our staff
about your ideas.
With God's help let us all commit ourselves to the wise use of our
time, talent and treasure to grow in Jesus Christ and to strengthen,
promote and extend a community of justice, love and peace. And may the
Spirit of the Prince of Peace reign supreme in your hearts, your home
and in our world.
| Sincerely in Christ,
Msgr. Jim McGovern
