Bridges to Housing Stability (Bridges), formerly Congregations Concerned for the Homeless (CCH), has been serving Howard County for 22 years. Originally founded as a grassroots faith effort based on concern for homeless families in Howard County, Bridges has grown to be a respected non-profit organization providing help to local families who are losing their housing or have already lost it. As a key partner in the Howard County Plan to End Homelessness, Bridges provides effective services and compelling advocacy that result in housing stability for Howard County households. Last year Bridges helped more than 100 households find or remain in stable housing.
Church of the Resurrection is one of Bridges’ partner congregations and a strong supporter, this year serving as the host site for Bridges’ annual Hotter than Thou Chili Cook-off. Resurrection also supports the annual client holiday party, "Adopts" several families at Christmas and designated Sunday collections throughout the year.
There are a number of opportunities for congregants to volunteer at Bridges to Housing Stability including serving on committees, volunteering for the annual Chili Cook-off or the annual holiday party for clients, being on the movers or furniture donation on-call lists, being put on our enewsletter list to stay informed of Bridges activities, and ‘liking’ Bridges facebook page, sharing our posts and inviting others to ‘like’ our page.
