Kindergarten through 8th grade
" You have asked to have your child baptized. In doing so you are accepting the responsibility of training him/her in the practice of the faith. It will be your duty to bring him/her up to keep God's commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and our neighbor. Do you clearly understand what you are undertaking?"
(Rite of Baptism for Children)
Welcome to a new year of Religious Education! The beginning of the school year is a great time to begin a new habit of praying with your child(ren) or re-introduce an old habit. We are asking you (as parents), who are the primary Catechists (teachers) of the Catholic Faith, to work with your child(ren) on learning specific prayers during the year.
Praying is talking to God. Develop a habit of helping your child pray. It is a great way to settle them before bed. Do the Sign of the Cross then ask God to watch over or bless family members by naming them. Then close with the Sign of the Cross. Then as your child learns more prayers, add to their bedtime prayers.
